Use a rate from your own run
The default numbers are an editable example, not Project Zomboid consumption constants. Measure what your character or group uses over an in-game day, then enter that amount. Traits, activity, weather, settings, and how you define a unit can change the result.
How the estimate works
Target = survivors × days × daily rate × (1 + reserve percentage ÷ 100). The shortfall is the target minus stock already stored, with a minimum of zero. Displayed targets round up to two decimal places; compare in the same unit throughout.
This plans quantity only. It cannot check whether water is safe, food is spoiled, or storage is accessible. Keep portable emergency supplies separate from a larger stockpile.
